Trichloroisocyanuric Acid (TCCA) - Professional Chlorinating Agent Used for Improve Aging Resistance and Oxidation Resistance

Trichloroisocyanuric Acid (TCCA) - Professional Chlorinating Agent Used for Improve Aging Resistance and Oxidation Resistance

Trichloroisocyanuric Acid (TCCA) is a powerful and versatile organic chlorinating agent, widely recognized as one of the most effective and efficient forms of chlorine available. It appears as a white, crystalline powder or tablet with a distinct chlorine odor.

As a slow-dissolving compound, TCCA provides a sustained release of chlorine and cyanuric acid, offering prolonged disinfection, bleaching, and algae control. Its high stability and chlorine content make it the preferred choice for industrial, commercial, and agricultural applications where reliable and powerful sanitation is critical.

    How to use

    1.For Swimming Pools:
Place TCCA tablets in a floating dispenser, skimmer basket, or automatic chlorinator.
This allows for slow, controlled dissolution and even distribution of chlorine.
Never throw tablets directly into the pool as they can bleach and damage the liner or floor.
    2.For Water Treatment:
Direct Dosing: The required amount of TCCA powder or granules can be directly added to the water system with adequate mixing.
Solution Preparation: For precise dosing, a stock solution can be prepared by dissolving TCCA in water. This solution should be used immediately and not stored for long periods.
    3.General Disinfection:
Prepare a solution by dissolving TCCA in water to achieve the desired available chlorine concentration (e.g., 100-500 ppm). Apply by spraying or mopping.

    Advantages

1.High Chlorine Content: With ≥90% available chlorine, it is one of the most concentrated commercial chlorine sources, offering superior efficiency.
2.Stability & Long Shelf Life: Remains stable under proper storage conditions, with minimal chlorine loss over time.
3.Slow-Release Action: Tablets dissolve gradually, providing a consistent, long-lasting chlorine residual and reducing application frequency.
4.Multi-Functional: Acts as a powerful disinfectant, algicide, and bleaching agent simultaneously.
5.Convenience: Solid form (especially tablets) is easy to transport, store, and apply with minimal risk of spills compared to liquid chlorine.
6.Cost-Effective: High efficiency and slow dissolution lead to lower overall chemical consumption and labor costs.

    Storage Method

1.Store in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place.
2.Protect from direct sunlight, heat, and moisture.
3.Keep the container tightly sealed to prevent caking and decomposition.
    4. Isolate from flammables, combustibles, organic materials, acids, ammonia, and reducing agents. Fires involving TCCA can produce toxic gases.

    FAQ

    • Q1: What is the difference between TCCA and Calcium Hypochlorite?

A1: TCCA contains 90% available chlorine and is acidic, while calcium hypochlorite typically has 65-70% chlorine and is alkaline. TCCA releases chlorine more slowly and contains cyanuric acid (CYA), which helps protect chlorine from UV degradation in outdoor pools. Calcium hypochlorite does not contain CYA.
    • Q2: Is the cyanuric acid (CYA) in TCCA safe?

    • Q3: Can I mix TCCA with other chemicals?

    • Q4: Why should I use tablets instead of powder?

    • Q5: Is TCCA corrosive?
